How to change non-steam cd key

Helepa me. I need to change my cs 1.6 non steam cd key.

Do you have the cd key you want to change it to? Or are you asking for another cd key?

If you have the cd key you can go into the windows registry & change it. Be careful if you try this as you can corrupt your windows installation in you make a mistake.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Half-Life\Settings

change "ValveKey" to the cd key you want.

An easier way is to a create registry file.
Do this by creating a new text file.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Valve\Half-Life\Settings]
"ValveKey"="XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX"

Copy & paste that into the text file & replace X's with your cd key. Save it then change the file extension to ".reg". Double click the file and add it to your registry. If you have never done this before & are not confident you can do this do not attempt it. I'm not responsible if your PC explodes or any other damages your PC encounters if you make a mistake.

Thanks...but all i wanted to do if fix that invalid cd key error that comes up in non-steam.

Yeah that can't be fixed. If you want to join steam servers buy the game.
