I've never really played the resident evil games. I only played resident evil 4 for the gamecube for about 10 minutes. I wasn't really impressed, maybe it was just the gamecube version I don't know.

The RE series. You either love it or hate it. The games are definitely challenging. To bad about RE4 though. You never fought the Lake Monster, The Giant Trolls, or that guy with the chainsaw. Damn you chainsaw guy! The thing I loved the most about it were all the ways you could die. Wow!

Wow. It seems I misjudged the game by the ten minutes of gameplay. Looking @ the video it looks really good and a bit complicated.

Resident Evil 4 for the Gamecube is one of the best games ever made for any console. At the same time, it's also one of the hardest games ever made for any console. RE4 had more in common with first person shooter war games, by putting the camera behind the character and giving you lots of cool weapons, the game felt more like a weapons simulator. They gave you a "laser sight" so your shot accuracy played into the strategy of the game, for example, you could shoot an enemy in the arm to make them drop their weapon first, or shoot them in the leg to make them fall, shoot them in the head and make their head explode, so many strategies.

You could also interact with environments, like run into a house, barricade the door, run upstairs, knock a ladder down, run on rooftops to get away, and the enemy intelligence was crazy. Now they all work together to hunt you down in packs. And then when you're out of ammo, the dude with the chainsaw that can never die comes charging after you to finish you off!!! Now when you encounter enemies, you have to think in terms of a bigger strategy. And this is where the challenge was. Which is good. You have to actually think to get through an area. But the best thing of all, was the "fucking violence"!

I still can't believe they got away with the amount of fucking violence, on the Gamecube of all consoles! I'm not gonna keep posting about Resident Evil. But just to show you what I mean about the fucking violence, here is just one level, "JUST ONE", level in RE4 Gamecube where Leon Kennedy is on a mine cart and, well, just count the number of headshots. COUNT THEM!!!! :o
