[CoD4] Downloadable Map Pack Coming Soon

For those of you tired of playing the same stock maps every night we have some exciting news. Game developer Infinity Ward is on the cusp of releasing a new map pack with FOUR, yes I said four, new maps.

The first of these maps is called Broadcast and is taken from one of the missions in the single player side of the game. You will recognize the tv station from that mission in which you had to assault the enemy but you won't recognize what's inside of it. From the multi-pathed main level leading into the large main room filled with cubicles to the small hallways leading upstairs to the second floor, packed with even more hallways and rooms, all the way up to the roof, you can bet there will be firefights waiting around every corner.

For those of you afraid of the sometimes constant barrage of airstrikes and helicopter attacks you will find some reprieve from these as most of the action on this map will take place inside the building. Don't get too cozy as you will still be vulnerable outside on the ground level and up on the roof.

The next map which is completely new is called Creek. This is a large outdoor map with a few houses located on one side of it. Cutting through the middle of the map is a ravine with the "Creek" running right along it's bottom. There's also a large cave at some point leading out of the ravine. With all these levels and undergrowth abounding this map will be a snipers delight. Don't worry though, it's still large enough to run and gun across the rest of the map for you non-snipers.

The other two maps being released have not had screenshots released of them so we can't show you them yet. The third map is called Chinatown so expect something along that vein of reference for what the map will look like. The final map is called Killhouse and may resemble the training level from the start of the single player game.

The map pack will be released on Xbox 360 and PS3 for an unspecified price (yes there is a cost as with most new game addons these days). For those of us on PC we'll have to wait for Infinity Ward to decide how the map pack will be distributed and if we'll be paying for it (although I'm leaning towards us having to).
