Greetings,

My friend who plays counter alot is having alot of trouble with it now.
He got a whole new computer smack bang one, and now counter wont work.
He uses steam and when he try's to join a server it crash's.
Its not his steam, or his monitor, We're almost certin its his video card, these are the best specs
That he has told me that i have :

My Computer Specs >>NVIDIA GeForce 6150 LE Graphics Card<< 2 gigs of RAM 320 gig hard driveOperating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional Version 2002 Service Pack 2.

We've updated his drivers and tried stuff, He thinks its his refresh rate, but we don't know how to fiddle with that, He said he was going to take it too some computer geek shop and get it checked out. But does anyone know what could be causing this problem? Thanks ~Ministry

.Yes he has re-downloaded and installed cstrike
.And we have done most of the obvious things, so dont flame me ;D

Are you getting any error statements or logs? That would help alot.

If he uses a modern LCD Screen, the refresh rate shouldn't be a problem. Usually, its set to its only option by the video card.

He hasn't told me of any error's it just crashes.
He does use a modern LCD screen.
And he posted to steam about it, I havn't read the actual response but he said they said its his refresh rate .. xD.

I'll post to them and see what happens...
Thanks.

If you could post the link to the steam thread here so we can read it that would be helpful.

Have you guys tried changing the video renderer from software to D3D to OpenGL?

Yes yes, We think it maybe his monitor because he can only put his refresh rate up to 95hertz I think.

Also his msn crash's when he try's to play a game on that >_>.

Well having a higher refresh rate is nice but do you really need higher than 75 - 85hz?
